In the summer of 1849 Edgar Allan Poe was traveling the country in pursuit of subscriptions for a new literary magazine, edited entirely by him. Two months later he would be dead without a single copy being published. Come see Poe in some of his final moments, passionately advocating for an American literary awakening.
